Natasha advises clients on a wide range of commercial matters, with specialist experience in Building & Construction Law.

Natasha Hemmerling has practiced law since 2002 advising clients in the areas of Building & Construction Law; Business & Commercial Law; Litigation; Employment Law; Property Law; Wills & Estates.

Natasha has represented a diversity of both small and large corporate clientele including private and publicly listed companies, semi-government enterprises (both local and national), plus a variety of individuals.

Her significant experience advising clients across all manner of business transactions includes business sales, joint ventures, mergers, leases, contracts, property transactions, employment and franchising.

An integral part of Natasha’s practice is to help clients in the early identification of business risks and to provide practical solutions to solve problems typically faced by her clients in a variety of commercial situations.

Although regularly representing clients in the Supreme, District, Magistrates, Federal and Industrial Relations Courts, Natasha also advocates alternative dispute resolution processes such as mediation, arbitration and conciliation.

Natasha is an excellent negotiator and encourages out-of-court settlements where possible.

She is client focused: striving to achieve the best possible outcome, while keeping them informed about their case every step of the way.

Natasha has a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She is a member of the Law Society of SA.

Natasha is passionate about helping the community and the construction industry and she holds several board positions including:

  • Board member for Master Landscapers Association of SA
  • Board member and Vice Chair of Carer and Community Support and Respite Inc.
  • Advisory Board Member of the Executive Roundtable Group; and
  • Associate Member Representative for the Civil Contractors Federation SA Board.

Natasha is also Vice Chair of the Women in Civil Committee for Civil Contractors Federation of SA.

Kerry joined Clarke Hemmerling Lawyers in November 2023 as Special Counsel advising on a variety of Family Law related matters.

Kerry was admitted to practise on 12 February 2001. She completed the bar readers course and practised as Counsel from 2008 in both South Australia and Queensland. Before moving to the independent bar in 2008 Kerry practiced as a barrister and solicitor for seven years in Australia, often appearing in complex family law litigation.

Kerry is admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia and has a law degree from the University of Adelaide and a business degree from the University of South Australia majoring in Human Resource Development.

She has also successfully completed the Advanced Advocacy Training with the Australian Bar Association in Sydney.

Kerry has a vast experience in Family Law Property matters as well as Children’s matters and has participated in substantial mediations over her years of practising as a solicitor and barrister. With keen negotiation skills and an eye for detail Kerry encourages early settlement and often locates the nugget of gold in her client’s cases that lead to advantageous outcomes.

With a client focussed approach Kerry enjoys working hand in hand with clients keeping them posed of progress during their matter.

Ishaan is a dual-qualified lawyer who has been admitted to the bar in India since 2015. After practising for three years, he moved to Australia and requalified as a lawyer.

Throughout the past two decades, Ishaan has held various roles in technology, hardware, and software companies, giving him extensive knowledge and understanding of the business world. His areas of expertise include commercial advice, busienss disputes and litigation, and he has worked with companies in all stages of the business life cycle, from launch to maturity.

Before transitioning into legal work, Ishaan worked in sales, commercial and operations departments, giving him a holistic perspective on business. His deep understanding of business helps him foresee and mitigate commercial disputes, and he takes a pragmatic approach to solving business disputes.

Ishaan holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Commerce, and a certificate in Contract Law from Harvard Law School. He is also a member of the Law Society of SA and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Darryl Clarke

Passed away unexpectedly in July 2022.

Darryl Clarke – father of Natasha Hemmerling, was a founding partner, with his name contributing to our firm’s name. He passed away suddenly in July 2022.

He is remembered for his contribution to clients and the community, his dedication to the principle of: access to justice for all, and his tireless work for positive and commercial outcomes.

Darryl was empathetic and delivered legal services with passion, heart, integrity and determination.

He had extensive experience in Family Law, Criminal Law, Wills & Estates – and applied a results focused approach aimed at providing the best advice, and minimising the stress of our clients during this process.

Darryl was a member of the Law Society of SA, and had been a board member of the Army Museum of South Australia for many years.
